37,663 voters voted for their candidates in the "early voting" stage
Anwar Gargash: Early voting took place over the last three days in a positive and civilized manner, which enhances the civil and electoral culture in the country
The National Elections Committee announced the conclusion of the early voting phase for the 2015 Federal National Council elections, in the nine polling centers distributed across the Emirates, which were chosen according to a well-thought-out process to take into account the ease of access by all voters.
His Excellency Dr. Anwar Muhammad Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs, Chairman of the National Elections Committee, confirmed that the early voting phase, which spanned over three days, was successfully completed and witnessed a good turnout of voters, and represents a positive addition to electoral practice in the country.
His Excellency pointed out that the number of members of the electoral colleges who voted in the early voting stage reached 37,663 voters, considering that early voting gave many voters the opportunity to participate in the electoral process based on their life circumstances and commitments.
His Excellency also praised the full support provided by the work teams at the polling centers in assisting voters and answering all their inquiries and assistance, especially with regard to the electronic voting system.
His Excellency added that early voting took place over the last three days in a positive and civilized manner, which enhances the civil and electoral culture in the country, and the electoral silence period starts from October 1 until the election day corresponding to Saturday, October 3, 2015.
The National Elections Committee calls upon the electoral bodies to actively participate in the Federal National Council elections on Saturday, the third of October, which start from eight in the morning until eight in the evening, in 36 centers distributed across all Emirates.
11 centers in Abu Dhabi
The number of electoral centers in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi is eleven, which are as follows: Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center, Al Jazeera Club sports hall, Yas Mall, Zayed University in Shakhbout City, and in the western region: Madinat Zayed wedding hall, Ghayathi wedding hall, Al Sila wedding hall . In Al Ain: Al Ain Convention Center / Al Khabisi, Al Waqn Wedding Hall, Al Dhaher Wedding Hall, Al Hayer Wedding Hall.
6 centers in Dubai
The number of electoral centers in the Emirate of Dubai is six: Dubai World Trade Centre, the Culture and Science Symposium in Al Mamzar, the sports hall at the headquarters of the UAE Football Association in Dubai, Sunset Mall, the Emirates Identity Building in Al Barsha, and the Hatta wedding hall.
7 centers in Sharjah
The number of electoral centers in the Emirate of Sharjah reached seven centers distributed as follows: Sharjah Chess Club on Al Dhaid Street near the American University, Mughaidir Suburb Council, Real Estate Registration Department - Al Layyah Suburb next to the Department of Culture and Information, Al Dhaid Youth Club, Maliha Cultural Club, Expo Center In Khor Fakkan, University of Sharjah in Kalba.
Two centers in Ajman and Umm Al Quwain
In the Emirate of Ajman, two electoral centers have been identified: the Social Services Building - Ministry of Social Affairs in the Al Jurf region, and the Sanad Center in the Masfout region. Likewise, in the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain there are two polling stations: Sheikh Khalifa Wedding Hall and the Technical High School in Falaj Al Mualla.
5 centers in Ras Al Khaimah
Five polling centers have been identified in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, and they are as follows: Expo Center, Emirates Identity Authority building behind the General Administration of Ras Al Khaimah Police, Emirates Identity Authority building in Al Rams area, Colleges of Technology (female students), Al Ghail Youth Center.
3 polling stations in Fujairah
In the Emirate of Fujairah, three electoral centers have been identified: the exhibition grounds, the center of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development in the Masafi region, and the Dibba Sports Club.
The National Elections Committee seeks to provide all the capabilities that enable members of the electoral bodies to actively participate in the electoral process, and work to choose someone to represent them under the dome of the Federal National Council and convey their voice with sincerity and honesty.
