The National Elections Committee and the Higher Colleges of Technology launched the "Qualification and Training Program for Polling Center Teams", as the first program of its kind to grant a specialized certificate to polling center workers, as part of the National Elections Committee's endeavor to engage qualified human cadres to contribute to the implementation of the electoral process.

This came during the joint press conference held by the Committee with the Higher Colleges of Technology at Abu Dhabi Men's College today, Monday (June 1, 2015), in which HE Tariq Hilal Lootah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs, Chairman of the Election Management Committee of the National Elections Committee, spoke. and His Excellency Dr. Abdul Latif Al Shamsi, Director of the Higher Colleges of Technology Complex.

His Excellency Tariq Lootah stressed that the Federal National Council elections 2015 are a complementary and continuity step to the empowerment program launched by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State - may God protect him - in order to enhance political participation and empower the Federal National Council to become a supportive and supportive authority for the executive authority in Country.

His Excellency indicated that the program for qualifying and training polling center teams will work to enhance political awareness among different segments of society, and enrich the knowledge of polling center workers about the empowerment program, the role of the Federal National Council, and the approach to promoting political participation.

His Excellency said: "Through the program, we seek to provide the cadres working in the centers with practical and field experience in managing and organizing one of the most important national events, which is the 2015 Federal National Council elections. This project also has a great impact and a vital role in contributing to efforts to make the electoral process a success, and it will also contribute to it." In creating an electoral culture for the cadres working within this program, by training and educating them on all aspects of the electoral process and its phases and limits in terms of legal frameworks and electoral systems, so that they are highly professional in contributing effectively to the management of the electoral process.

His Excellency expressed the National Elections Committee's keenness to build strategic partnerships with all national and civil institutions, in order to expand the base of national efforts in serving the country and the citizen, and to fully implement this national mission. He also called on all government agencies, universities and institutions concerned with volunteering programs to urge their affiliates. To participate and register in the program, to be part of the new national experience, the experience of the 2015 Federal National Council elections.

For his part, Dr. Abdullatif Al Shamsi, Director of the Higher Colleges of Technology Complex, commenting on the launch of the program, stressed the interest of the wise leadership in educating, training and creating cadres capable of assuming their responsibilities towards the country through effective participation in the implementation of the electoral process. And that the Higher Colleges of Technology - which is the largest institution of higher education in the country - adopts these goals that seek to raise the country and contribute to its progress and renaissance, and is keen to qualify the Emiratis scientifically and professionally through learning by practice to manage and organize the electoral process professionally and professionally.

He added that the "Program for Qualification and Training of Electoral Center Teams" grants students enrolled in the program the first specialized certificate of its kind in this field through 900 study hours for all learners, which aims to enrich students' information about the President of the State's program for political empowerment and familiarity with the role of the Federal National Council and the legal frameworks regulating the process. Electoral. Dr. explained. Al Shamsi said that the program aims to enhance students' work skills in polling centers and the skills of dealing with the public.

The director of the complex indicated that the Higher Colleges of Technology seek to have this program approved by the National Qualifications Authority and to provide the local labor market with qualified and trained national cadres in the field of polling stations.

In order to apply to join the programs, the applicant must have the following specifications: be a citizen of the United Arab Emirates, commit to attending the training course and pass it successfully, and adhere to work within the polling center team that he will join on election day, which is spread across the emirates and regions of the country, and his age must not be less than 21 years.
