The National Election Commission concludes its introductory seminars for the electoral bodies
The National Elections Committee concluded its two-week series of introductory seminars for electoral bodies, which aimed at explaining and clarifying all the details related to the electoral process, and spreading the culture of elections among the various segments of Emirati society.
The committee organized ten introductory seminars in the various emirates of the country, which it concluded in Umm Al Quwain and Ajman, and included defining the political aspect of the electoral experience and clarifying the legal framework under which the electoral process is conducted, as well as focusing on the rights and duties specified by the executive instructions for the elections for both the candidate and the voter.
The seminars witnessed the clarification of many issues raised by the attendees during the discussions, most notably the electoral campaign controls and the rights guaranteed to voters, and the conditions that must be met by the candidates, with a focus on the importance of participating in the elections to contribute to the success of the second election experience and its output in a manner that is in line with the developments taking place in the United Arab Emirates. in all fields.
His Excellency Tariq Hilal Lootah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs, member of the National Elections Committee and Chairman of the Election Management Committee, said: “We sought, through a series of introductory seminars that were held in all emirates of the country, to communicate with members of the electoral bodies to clarify the details related to the electoral process, in both its political aspects. And legal, because most voters consider this their first experience, and attention must be paid to the educational and awareness aspect in this field.
He added: "The National Elections Committee started its awareness program with educational seminars that it held for various sectors of society, and continued these efforts through introductory seminars for electoral bodies, based on the executive instructions that stipulated that one of the competences of the committee is to contribute to awareness and education efforts related to the electoral process, and the committee will continue this Efforts to establish an electoral culture in Emirati society.
His Excellency Tariq Hilal Lootah continued: "The upcoming elections constitute an important step within the program to enhance political participation according to a gradual and clear approach, and in line with the experience of the United Arab Emirates in comprehensive development. The step to reach a political program that meets the aspirations of the people and the wise leadership.
A group of lecturers participated in the seminars, namely His Excellency Dr. Saeed Al Ghafli, Assistant Undersecretary for Federal National Council Affairs, member of the National Elections Committee, Professor Dr. Muhammad Butti Thani Al Shamsi, Dr. Sultan Abdul Hameed Al Jamal, and Dr. Ahmed Ali Al Khuzimi.
