The National Elections Committee in Abu Dhabi today signed a memorandum of understanding with the Emirates Telecommunications Corporation "Etisalat", with the aim of establishing a strategic partnership between them in the field of information and communication technology, and setting general frameworks for coordinating efforts and activities to provide an infrastructure for the communication network that connects the electoral centers determined by the committee.
The memorandum was signed in the Etisalat building in Abu Dhabi by His Excellency Tariq Hilal Lootah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs, member of the National Elections Committee, Chairman of the Election Management Committee, and His Excellency Jamal Saeed Al Nuaimi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Region in "Etisalat" in the presence of His Excellency Sami bin Uday, Assistant Undersecretary For the support services sector in the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs, member of the Election Management Committee.
According to the memorandum, Etisalat is committed to providing a comprehensive set of information and communication technology solutions according to the requirements of the committee, and to provide electronic connectivity and ensure continuity of communication between the polling stations that the committee determines during the voting process, while providing alternatives that ensure the continuity of the network's work to ensure the smooth transmission of information between polling stations.
The memorandum also stipulates Etisalat's commitment to provide qualified technical personnel in the polling centers connected to the network on election day to ensure the network and devices work without interruption, and to provide long-distance networking service (WAN) and continuous digital communication service (IP Connectivity) for polling centers in accordance with the requirements of the electoral process until Expiry and return it.
His Excellency Tariq Hilal Lootah said: "The National Elections Committee is working to complete all procedures related to the polling centers to ensure the workflow in a manner that results in the electoral process in an exemplary manner, adding to the balance of the United Arab Emirates in the field of organizing major events, in addition to ensuring the continuity of work in the polling centers and providing A communication network between electoral centers according to the latest international standards, which will reflect positively on the conduct of the electoral process.
He added: “The signing of the memorandum of understanding with Etisalat comes due to the organization’s advanced technical and human expertise, as the corporation is one of the leading institutions in this field, and we seek through this memorandum to establish a strategic partnership between the corporation and the committee, especially since the elections The Federal National Council is a major national project, and all national institutions must participate in it and support it by all available means.
For his part, Jamal Al Nuaimi, General Manager of Abu Dhabi Region at Etisalat, said: "Our partnership with the National Election Commission reflects the Corporation's strategy in supporting various projects and initiatives of the federal government. Etisalat will harness all its technical and technological capabilities and advanced infrastructure network, which contributes to the success of the electoral process."
