Within the activities of the fourth session of the Forum on Building Political Awareness for University Students
His Excellency Dr. Anwar Muhammad Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs, and Chairman of the National Elections Committee, called on the youth of the United Arab Emirates to take the initiative to interact with the electoral process and participate in this national election and make it a success by being up to the responsibility and confidence granted by the leadership rational for them.
His Excellency stressed that the leadership's confidence in the conscious Emirati youth who are aware of the issues of their country is not modified by trust, which was reflected in a practical way by giving them the largest percentage of representation in the electoral bodies, so that their voice is the most important in choosing who represents them under the dome of the Federal National Council.
His Excellency stressed that the wise leadership is very keen to promote a culture of political participation, because it believes that the comprehensive development process requires that society interact with it in all its groups and institutions, as a process that requires integration in all its basic pillars among them to achieve comprehensive development.
This came during the interactive session in which His Excellency spoke within the activities of the fourth session of the Forum for Building Political Awareness for University Students, which is implemented by the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs and the National Elections Committee in cooperation with the United Arab Emirates University.
The fourth forum, which was attended by the university's board of directors and a crowd of students, discussed the topic of the 2015 Federal National Council elections and political participation within the efforts of the National Elections Committee and the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs aimed at increasing political awareness and promoting the culture of participation of all segments of Emirati society in the 2015 Federal National Council elections.
His Excellency pointed out that the students' meeting comes at a stage in which the UAE will witness an advanced step in terms of enhancing its political and parliamentary experience, as the UAE is moving towards a new electoral process, which is the 2015 National Council elections. He stressed the great role of university students and UAE youth in interacting with The electoral process, and to be ambassadors for the 2015 Federal National Council elections, by participating first and encouraging participation in the electoral process, and to be part of this event that will add a new balance of distinction to the United Arab Emirates.
His Excellency Dr. Anwar Gargash sent a message to university students and UAE youth to follow the march with the support of their country and contribute to the comprehensive development process in all its political, economic and social aspects, as this reflects on the strength of their country, the unity of their society and the security of their families.
His Excellency said, "We want Emirati youth to vote in these elections because they are the builders of the country's future, and their participation in the elections will enrich our parliamentary experience by choosing the candidate who will convey their voice, making them a key factor in decision-making."
Addressing university students, His Excellency added, "Your voice as youth in the electoral process will determine the results of these elections, and you will elect a member of the Federal National Council who will search for solutions to issues of concern to you and legislate laws that support your aspirations for the future and enhance the comprehensive development of the UAE."
During the interactive session with the students, His Excellency praised the role of the Federal National Council as a constitutional institution that had a major role in the renaissance of the UAE, through the efforts made by its members, from its first session until today, in searching for issues and finding appropriate solutions to them.
His Excellency said: "The age of this national constitutional institution is the age of the union of our state, which is an institution in which our wise leadership saw it as an essential pillar for building a state of institutions and law, and its keenness to strengthen and empower this council, comes from its belief that the comprehensive development process requires that society interact with it in all its segments." to achieve the comprehensive development of society.
In a speech to the Organizing Committee for the activities of the Fourth Political Awareness Forum, His Excellency Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, President of the United Arab Emirates University, affirmed that this forum comes to enhance the pioneering role of the United Arab Emirates University in various fields and as a contribution to developing local partnerships that contribute to the transfer of knowledge and skills to serve the community.
Al-Nuaimi said: “The university administration, and within the directives of His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Supreme President of the University, is keen on the importance and good organization of the forum for building political awareness for university students in its fourth session, and His Excellency’s affirmation, to ensure a broader participation of university students and from various colleges In this important political forum, which is directed mainly to students, whose lectures and workshops are directed in a way that is consistent and appropriate to the age group that he is addressing and dialogues with.

The Department of Political Science at the United Arab Emirates University, in cooperation with the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs and the National Elections Committee, announced the launch of the "Friends of the Elections" initiative, which aims to spread political awareness, make national political work a success, and highlight the role of the National Council and its importance in political decision-making.
