The National Elections Committee, at its seventh meeting held in Abu Dhabi, chaired by His Excellency Dr. Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs and Chairman of the National Elections Committee, approved the formation of the UAE committees for the 2015 Federal National Council elections. It also discussed work plans and completed projects to organize The next election.
His Excellency Dr. Anwar Gargash affirmed that the United Arab Emirates possesses leading and distinguished experiences and competencies in various fields that are qualified to implement and embody the directives of the wise leadership of the UAE to reach the excellence that it seeks in all fields, regionally and globally. The National Authority for Elections in the implementation and management of elections, and it will reflect positively on the conduct of the electoral process in general.
His Excellency Dr. Anwar Gargash stated that the UAE committees are one of the most important executive bodies of the National Elections Committee, which will work closely with the Elections Management Committee in managing technical and administrative matters related to the conduct of the Federal National Council elections in each emirate.
His Excellency added: "The formation of the Emirates Committees is a step of great importance due to its pivotal role in managing the electoral scene in the United Arab Emirates, within which the Emirates Committees will work alongside the rest of the sub-committees of the National Elections Committee in preparing, managing and implementing the 2015 Federal National Council elections." .
The meeting discussed the necessary preparations for conducting the electoral process, in addition to discussing work plans, reviewing completed projects and measures taken to organize the upcoming elections.
It is noteworthy that the Emirate Committee includes representatives of the Emirate Office, the police and the municipality, in addition to prominent personalities from the private sector. It coordinates with the Election Management Committee regarding technical and administrative matters related to the conduct of elections in the Emirate. It works to determine its headquarters in the Emirate and coordinate communication with the Election Management Committee.
The Emirates committees receive forms related to the electoral process from the Election Management Committee and provide them at the headquarters of the committee, propose electoral centers in the emirate in coordination with the Election Management Committee, and submit candidacy application forms in the emirate to the Election Management Committee after ensuring that the conditions are met, in addition to receiving appeals, and ensuring that all data is available. And the information required therein and submitting it to the Election Management Committee, monitoring the implementation of the electoral campaign controls in the Emirate, and submitting reports and observations regarding any violations to the Election Management Committee.
