The National Elections Committee confirmed that it is constantly working to monitor the advertising campaigns of the candidates for the Federal National Council elections 2015 and in all emirates of the country, stressing at the same time that it will work to take all legal measures against anyone who violates the rules for advertising campaigns in accordance with what is stipulated in the executive instructions. for elections.

The National Elections Committee confirmed that it is constantly working to monitor the advertising campaigns of the candidates for the Federal National Council elections 2015 and in all emirates of the country, stressing at the same time that it will work to take all legal measures against anyone who violates the rules for advertising campaigns in accordance with what is stipulated in the executive instructions. for elections.

In its statement, the committee indicated that monitoring the propaganda campaigns aims to preserve the prestige and sobriety of the electoral process for the elections of the members of the Federal National Council, and to provide information and slogans that address the minds of the voters, objectively and rationally, away from intimidation and exaggeration, and in a manner commensurate with the terms of reference of the Federal National Council so that the voter can cast his vote for the best. And the one who is able to convey his requirements and needs and find appropriate solutions for them in the service of the country and the citizen.

The committee also indicated in its statement that according to the executive instructions for the Federal National Council elections, the candidate has many rights, which are concentrated in expressing himself and carrying out any activity aimed at convincing the voters of his choice and advertising for his electoral program completely freely according to the rules stipulated in the executive instructions for the elections, and receiving donations from natural persons. Or Emirati legal persons only, and the establishment of an electoral headquarters after obtaining the approval of the Emirate Committee, and obtaining a license if he is a public employee (federal or local) or has a military capacity, and he can choose an agent on his behalf from among those registered in the Electoral College of the Emirate to which he belongs to attend the two processes Polling and sorting.

However, the committee stressed that the candidate also has duties that focus on striving to enhance national belonging, work to achieve the public interest, preserve the values and principles of society, adhere to rules and regulations, and respect public order, and not include in the electoral campaign ideas that call for provoking religious, sectarian, tribal, or ethnic intolerance. To third parties, to disclose the financing of his electoral campaign, to submit statements of the funds he receives on a permanent and regular basis to the Emirate Committee, to hand over to the National Elections Committee any amounts he obtained other than what was stated in the executive instructions for the elections, and not to provide any in-kind or material gifts to the voters.

It is also the duty of the candidate to remove violations related to the electoral campaign and to repair any damages arising from it at his own expense, and to remove all manifestations of his electoral campaign within a week of announcing the final results of the elections.

In its statement, the committee indicated that if the candidate commits any violation that would disrupt the conduct of the electoral process or disrupt the application of the executive instructions issued in this regard, in addition to the civil and criminal liability that the candidate may be subject to, the National Elections Committee can impose any of the penalties on the violating candidates. The next step is to withdraw the license granted to the candidate to carry out electoral campaigning, oblige the candidate to pay financial fines, and cancel the candidacy.

The National Elections Committee called on all candidates to develop appropriate electoral programs that deepen their communication with citizens and their closeness to them by raising the most important main issues of concern to citizens and in the interest of serving the Emirati society, stressing the great importance of the candidate, his agents and members of his electoral campaign being aware of his legal rights and how to preserve these Rights on the one hand, and knowledge of the duties and obligations that the candidate himself must abide by on the other hand, in order to ensure the best conduct of the electoral process.
