Election Management Committee Discusses Innovative Initiatives to Achieve Excellence

The Election Management Committee and the Smart Systems Committee of the National Election Committee (NEC) discussed opportunities for continuous improvement of the electoral process during their first meeting following the completion of the fourth cycle of the Federal National Council (FNC) elections.
The two committees reviewed the report of the FNC Elections 2019 that included an overview of the procedures and stages of the electoral process, as well as a list of this year’s key achievements. In addition, they explored innovative ideas and best practices that contribute to ensuring that elections in the country are run in line with the highest standards.
His Excellency Tariq Hilal Lootah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of State for FNC Affairs, Member of NEC, and Chairman of the Election Management Committee, said: “The success of the FNC elections is a result of the effective teamwork of all committees and stakeholders that worked as one united force to ensure the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of all stages of the electoral process nationwide.”
He added: “Achieving the UAE leadership’s directives to attain excellence in all fields requires continuous work to shape new initiatives that align with the UAE’s distinguished status. In this context, the members of the committees examined the accomplishments of the 2019 elections and opportunities for improvement in the upcoming electoral cycles.”
The meeting was part of the ongoing efforts of the Election Management Committee to develop long-term plans to enhance the electoral process in the next cycle of the FNC elections in 2023 and beyond.
