Dr. Anwar Gargash: The first experience of voting outside the country received great interest and active participation from members of electoral bodies abroad

Yesterday (September 21, 2015) and in 94 polling centers distributed among most of the embassies and diplomatic missions of the United Arab Emirates scattered around the world, the voting process outside the country, which began in the polling center in New Zealand and ended in the polling center in Los Angeles, was concluded, where the ballot boxes were closed At exactly six o'clock in the evening, according to the local time of each country.

His Excellency Dr. Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs, and Chairman of the National Elections Committee, praised the success achieved by the voting process in the embassies and diplomatic missions of the UAE, and said: "Although it is the first experience of voting outside the country, it received great interest and active participation." Among the members of the electoral bodies present in different countries around the world who traveled distances to cast their votes in a distinctive national scene, which confirms the unity of the Emirati society and its keenness to participate in the elections, which is a national duty to contribute to the continued achievement of the achievements of the UAE at all levels.

His Excellency Dr. Anwar Gargash also extended his thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, for the efforts made by the Ministry through embassies and diplomatic missions abroad, represented by Their Excellencies Ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs team and all the work teams that worked on Organizing elections outside the state and taking them out in a civilized and organized way.

The polling centers in the countries of Germany, the United States of America and Britain witnessed the participation of the largest number of voters voting abroad. Where 280 male and female voters voted in polling centers in the Republic of Germany, 255 male and female voters in the United States of America, and 95 male and female voters in Britain, out of 1389 of the total number of voters who participated in the elections outside the country in 94 polling centers in the headquarters of the country’s embassies and missions.

The National Elections Committee also announced that it had monitored three cases during the voting process at the headquarters of the country's embassies and missions abroad, as the committee will consider these cases to take decisions that guarantee the safety and integrity of the electoral process.

The National Elections Committee works to provide all the capabilities that enable the electoral bodies to participate effectively in the electoral process, so that they become active contributors to the comprehensive development process taking place in the UAE.

The National Elections Committee urges all citizens to verify that their names are included in the lists of electoral bodies so that they can exercise their right to vote, by visiting the Committee’s website www.uaenec.ae or by calling the National Elections Committee call center 600500005, in order to enable them to participate in the voting process. Early or in voting on election day October 3, 2015.
