His Excellency the Minister stressed the importance of this great achievement, which embodies the belief of the leadership of the United Arab Emirates in promoting political participation as an integral part of national progress and comprehensive development, as the citizens of the Emirates expressed their support for this advanced step to empower the Federal National Council through their participation in the electoral process and their interaction With the experience of political development in its second step towards promoting effective participation.

His Excellency Dr. Anwar Gargash said, "The electoral bodies in all the emirates selected half of the members of the 40-member Federal National Council, as part of the usual procedures.
According to the elections that took place today, 20 members representing half of the members of the Federal National Council were elected, where four members were elected for each of Abu Dhabi and Dubai, three members for each of Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah, and two members for you from Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah.
The final results
The results issued today and attached to this statement are preliminary results. As of tomorrow, September 25, appeals will be opened against the results, provided that the final list of winners for membership of the Federal National Council will be approved on September 28, 2011.
