Early voting starts tomorrow in nine centers around the Emirates

Anwar Gargash: The National Elections Commission provides the highest standards of accuracy, integrity and protection for the voting process

The National Elections Committee has launched the protection system for the voting process, "electronic encryption", by activating the entry cards for the electronic voting system. And in 9 polling centers spread in various regions in the UAE.

  His Excellency indicated that the third session of the Federal National Council elections enhances the maturity of the UAE parliamentary experience and the march of successes achieved in the previous two sessions, by employing all means and capabilities that contribute to achieving this goal, and providing efficient management of the electoral process in a manner that keeps pace with the vision of the wise leadership of the UAE and aimed at To enhance political participation and develop the experience of the Federal National Council to a stage that is more representative and more effective, and the voice of the citizen and securing his requirements and needs are at the forefront of priorities to advance the Emirati society and bring it to the leading position it deserves regionally and globally.

Electronic encryption technology

In the interest of the Election Management Committee to provide the highest standards of integrity and protection for the electoral process, an electronic voting system was adopted that relies on electronic encryption technology, especially in the process of counting and counting votes. With this process, the end of the voting process in the polling centers is followed by the process of counting the votes electronically, after which the final results of the voting process for the candidates of the Federal National Council will be announced.

Electronic voting steps

The National Elections Committee announced the electronic voting steps for the 2015 Federal National Council elections, which will be used in the early voting phase that starts tomorrow and extends over 3 days from September 28-30, as well as the election day scheduled for October 3, 2015. The electronic voting system works from By entering the Emirates Identity Card issued by the Emirates Identity Authority, which is considered the approved document that authorizes its holder from among the members of the electoral bodies to exercise his right to vote during early voting days and on election day.

The electronic voting system enables the voter to practice the voting process in two ways, the first by entering the candidate’s number, and the second by clicking on the candidate’s picture. “Vote” option to complete the voting process successfully, then the voter withdraws the Emirates ID card.

The feature of confirming the candidate's choice gives the voter the ability to amend the voting option if it becomes clear to him that his choice was not the desired option.

The early voting process starts from 10 am until 6 pm in nine approved voting centers spread in various regions of the country, which are the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center, the Al Ain Convention Center in the Al Khabisi area, the Madinat Zayed wedding hall in the western region, and the Dubai World Trade Center in The city of Dubai, and the Sharjah Chess Club in the city of Sharjah - on Al Dhaid Street near the American University. As for the electoral center for the Emirate of Ajman, it will be in the social services building in the Al Jurf area - Ministry of Social Affairs. As for Ras Al Khaimah, the electoral center will be in the Higher Colleges of Technology for female students. Sheikh Khalifa Wedding Hall is the authorized electoral center in the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain, and in the Emirate of Fujairah, the electoral center will be in the Fairgrounds area.

The Election Management Committee invites all candidates and voters to visit the National Elections Committee’s website, uaenec.ae, to view the training film that explains the steps of electronic voting, as well as identifying candidate numbers, and to view early voting centers and learn about their locations and all information related to them.
