His Excellency added: "The media is a strategic partner of the committee, given the successes achieved by this effective partnership in the 2006 and 2011 elections in covering the work of the committee and introducing its activities, by conveying the correct image in an impartial and professional manner."
During its meeting, the committee reviewed the draft executive instructions regulating the electoral process because of its pivotal role in managing, implementing and organizing the electoral process, to ensure that it is conducted in accordance with the highest levels of transparency and professionalism. The proposed draft timetable for the Federal National Council elections 2015 was also reviewed, as it represents a vital step in the elections. The National Elections Committee, which was formed pursuant to the decision of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State (may God protect him) No. (3) of 2006 regarding determining the method for selecting the representatives of the Emirates in the Federal National Council, seeks to draw the general framework for the electoral process and general supervision of the conduct of the elections.
