His Excellency Dr. Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs, and Chairman of the National Elections Committee announced the names of the primary winners in the 2015 Federal National Council elections, which took place in three stages, including voting in embassies, early voting, and election day October 3, 2015. , in which the members of the electoral colleges voted to select half the number of members of the Federal National Council, with 20 seats out of 40.

His Excellency Dr. Anwar Gargash pointed out at the press conference announcing the results of the Federal National Council elections at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, that the United Arab Emirates has today successfully completed a national achievement in which the Emiratis united in one heart, whose title is love for the homeland and loyalty to its leadership, stressing His Excellency, the completion of the national mission, which was represented by the third experience in the elections of the Federal National Council, which accompanied the comprehensive development process of the Union State and was a prominent contributor to the development process witnessed by our dear country.

His Excellency Dr. Anwar Gargash extended his highest thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, for laying the foundations for the Empowerment Program, in which we conclude today its third phase through these elections, and with sincere thanks to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President, Prime Minister, Ruler of Dubai, and all Their Highnesses, Rulers of the Emirates, for their great support for this pioneering national program, and for their inspection visit to the electoral process.

His Excellency also thanked His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, for his support for the empowerment program.

His Excellency Dr. Anwar Gargash also directed our sincere thanks to the offices of the rulers of the Emirates, the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, the General Secretariat for Cabinet Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and to all federal and local national institutions, led by the Ministry of Interior, the Emirates Identity Authority, and all the strategic partners and supporters of the electoral process who provided a lot for the success of the electoral process.

His Excellency Dr. Anwar Gargash praised the role of the electoral bodies that actively contributed to the success of the electoral process by practicing the voting process at all stages of the electoral process.

His Excellency Dr. Anwar Gargash pointed out that what characterized the electoral process most was the prominent presence of the elderly, whom we thank at the outset for their presence and participation, and for whom electronic voting is no longer an obstacle as it was in the past.

His Excellency Dr. Anwar Gargash also praised the strategic partnership that brought together the National Elections Committee and the media in the United Arab Emirates, which were the great supporter of the National Elections Committee in reaching all segments of society and enhancing their awareness of the electoral process.

His Excellency Dr. Anwar Gargash praised the efforts of all male and female candidates who decided to run in this electoral race, out of their keenness to represent their society and serve their country and their leadership, and I salute them for their efforts during the last period, pointing out that the Committee received with great sadness the news of the death of one of the candidates today. Where His Excellency conveyed, in his name and on behalf of the National Elections Committee, his deepest condolences to the family of candidate Abdulaziz Al-Shehhi, who passed away today, asking God Almighty to bestow His mercy on him.

The third electoral experience witnessed an expansion of the number of electoral bodies to reach about 224,000 voters, which is half the number of those entitled to vote, and women represent 48% of them. As well as an increase in the number of electoral centers by 36 polling centers to include most of all parts of the United Arab Emirates, equipped with all means and capabilities that enable voters to exercise their electoral right easily and easily.

A total of 330 candidates from all Emirates competed in the electoral race, including 74 female candidates. For the first time in the country, the early voting process took place for a period of three days, during which about 37,663 members of the electoral colleges voted, preceded by voting outside the country in 94 polling centers distributed among embassies and diplomatic missions in most countries of the world, in which 1,378 voters voted.

According to the electoral process taking place this year, 20 members representing half of the members of the Federal National Council were elected. The total number of votes at the state level reached 79,157 thousand votes, with 61.06% males and 38.94% females.

     The number of voters reached 79,157 in each emirate as follows:

Abu Dhabi Emirate: 35,046 votes, 55.5% males and 44.5% females

Dubai Emirate: 11,760 votes, 59.80% males and 040.2% females

Sharjah Emirate: 9585 votes, 59.99% males and 40.01% females

The Emirate of Ajman: 2965 votes, with 62.09% males and 37.91% females.

Umm Al Quwain Emirate: 2882 votes, with 64.50% males and 35.50% females.

Ras Al Khaimah Emirate: 11444 votes, 74.12 males and 25.88% females

- Emirate of Fujairah: 5475 votes, with 71.47% males and 28.53% females.

 

The top five centers in the percentage of votes were Al Ain Convention Center in Al Khabisi with 14,194 voters in the first place, secondly the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center with 11,532 voters, thirdly the center of Ras Al Khaimah Women’s College with 5,480 voters, and in the fourth place the Dubai World Trade Center. With 4,291 voters, and in fifth place was the Sharjah Chess Club, with 3,730 voters.

The results issued today and attached to this statement are considered preliminary results, and as of tomorrow, October 4, 2015, appeals against the results will be opened.

The final list of winners for membership of the Federal National Council will be approved on October 11, 2015, according to the schedule for the 2015 Federal National Council elections.
