The National Elections Committee holds a training workshop on the candidate registration system

In preparation for the registration of candidates during the period 14-17 August

The National Elections Committee organized a training workshop on the "Registration System for Candidates" in the presence of the employees who will participate in the registration processes that will start from the 14th and continue until the 17th of August 2011.

This workshop comes in preparation for the registration period, where the employees were trained to use the system provided by the Election Management Committee, which includes the data of the members of the electoral bodies who are entitled to run for membership in the Federal National Council, and to print the nomination application form through this system.

The workshop included a review of the nature and importance of the system, the role and responsibility of each employee, how to update candidate data, issuance of daily and final reports on the number of candidates, and printing of candidate lists and statistics reports.

His Excellency Tariq Hilal Lootah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs, member of the National Elections Committee and Chairman of the Election Management Committee, said: “The candidate registration stage is the next step within the election schedule, so we were keen to provide appropriate training for workers at this stage, so that the process of Registration within the legal and regulatory conditions specified in the executive instructions and in an organized manner that is convenient for candidates and employees at the same time.

He added: "The efforts of the National Elections Committee, after announcing the lists of electoral bodies, are focused on ensuring that all procedures related to the electoral process are implemented in accordance with the set plan. Therefore, we provide appropriate training and qualification for all employees so that each employee can perform his work to the fullest. The Election Management Committee has cut off So far, a lot of progress has been made in preparing for the elections.”

According to the Federal National Council elections schedule, the National Elections Committee announces the preliminary list of candidates for each emirate on August 20, 2011, and the emirate committee receives appeals for candidates between August 21 and August 23, provided that the final lists of candidates are announced on August 28, 2011.

The Dubai School of Government was chosen to host the discussions and activities organized by the National Elections Committee as part of the preparations for the 2011 Federal National Council elections, due to its activity in the field of encouraging good governance and contributing to the development of policies that positively affect management and operations in government institutions.
