The National Elections Committee holds training workshops for the executive staff involved in registering candidates

Within the framework of the preparations for the 2015 Federal National Council elections

The process of registering candidates will be carried out according to an electronic program prepared by the committee specifically to deal with the applications submitted by the candidates

Within the framework of the preparations made by the National Elections Committee for the Federal National Council elections 2015, the Committee will start, starting tomorrow, Wednesday, the implementation of three training workshops for the executive staff concerned with registering the names of members of the electoral bodies wishing to run for membership in the Federal National Council.

It should be noted that the process of registering candidates will be carried out according to an electronic program prepared by the committee specifically to deal with applications submitted by candidates, as this program provides greater accuracy in saving data in addition to the ease of obtaining a lot of technical reports through this system.

In this context, His Excellency Tariq Hilal Lootah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs and Chairman of the Election Management Committee, indicated that the process of qualifying the workers in the candidate registration centers is an essential element for the success of the electoral process as a whole, and the success of the candidate registration stage in particular.

His Excellency Tariq Lootah also stressed that the Emirates committees have worked to provide the best national cadres with the necessary experience and capabilities to deal with candidates for the Federal National Council elections at the required level.

The training workshops, which will include an explanation of the candidates' registration procedures, in addition to the legal rules regulating the registration process, aim to provide the workers in the registration centers with technical and work skills in the candidate registration centers, and enable them to acquire the skills of dealing with the public.

The first training workshop will be held in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi tomorrow, Wednesday, August 5, at 10 am. The second workshop will be held in the Emirate of Dubai on Thursday, August 6 at 10 am. While the third training workshop will be held in Ajman on Sunday, August 9, 10 am.

The Committee had recently announced that the process of registering the names of members of the electoral bodies who wish to run for membership of the Federal National Council 2105 and who meet the conditions for candidacy will start on Sunday, August 16, 2015, over a period of five days until August 20, in the registration centers that it specified. The National Elections Committee for this purpose, which is distributed in the various emirates of the country.

According to the schedule for the 2015 Federal National Council elections, the National Elections Committee will announce the preliminary list of candidates on August 23, and the final list will be announced on August 31, and the candidate can withdraw his candidacy application no later than September 14.

With the completion of the stage of the registration process for those wishing to run for membership of the Federal National Council 2015, and the issuance of the final list of candidates, the electoral process will have entered a new stage represented by the campaign period for the candidates, followed by voting from the country’s embassies abroad for the period 20-21 September, and early voting for the period between September 28-30.
