Tariq Lootah: Educating electoral college members about the electoral process enhances active participation on election day
The National Elections Committee announced that it will hold a series of educational seminars on the Federal National Council elections 2015 in all emirates of the country, during the period from 9 to 19 August 2015, in a practical step to familiarize members of the electoral bodies with all organizational and legal procedures related to the electoral process.
During the educational seminars, the Empowerment of the Federal National Council program will be reviewed, the two previous experiences of the National Council elections 2006-2011, and all statistics related to the electoral bodies in the years 2006-2011-2015. The most important stages of the electoral process will also be reviewed according to the timetable for the 2015 elections, in addition to an explanation. All issues related to the rights and duties of the voter, and everything a candidate needs to know in terms of conditions, documents, rules, rights and duties.
His Excellency Tariq Hilal Lootah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs and Chairman of the Election Management Committee, confirmed that these lectures are part of the awareness programs that the National Elections Committee is keen to organize on an ongoing basis to educate members of electoral bodies of all procedures related to the electoral process.
His Excellency indicated that the organization of these lectures was taken into account in all regions of the country to ensure reaching the largest number of members of the electoral bodies, noting that educating members of the electoral bodies about the electoral process and the associated legal and regulatory procedures contributes to enhancing participation in the elections scheduled for the third of October. next.
Awareness lectures are scheduled to start in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi on August 9, where three lectures will be held in each of Abu Dhabi, August 9, at the Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Theater in Zayed University, and at the headquarters of Al Ain Municipality in Al Ain on August 10, while A lecture will be organized in the western region, August 11, at the Baynouna Institute for Science and Technology - Madinat Zayed. After that, lectures will be held at the Police Officers Club in Dubai and at the Public Library in Hatta, on Thursday, August 13, 2015.
As for the lectures in the Emirate of Sharjah, they will start on August 16, 2015. Lectures will be organized at Al Qasimia University Theater in Sharjah, and the Maliha Cultural and Sports Club in the city of Maliha. A lecture will also be organized at the Cultural Center Theater in Khorfakkan on August 30, in addition to organizing a lecture at Sharjah Women's Union Association, which will be for women only.
Two separate lectures will be organized in the cultural centers of the emirates of Ajman on the 17th of August and the emirate of Umm Al Quwain on the 18th of August. Another lecture will be held on August 19 at the Cultural Center Theater, and on the same day a lecture will be held in the city of Fujairah and at the Cultural Center Theater.
