  As part of its efforts to provide the highest standards of efficiency, accuracy and transparency in managing the electoral process, the National Elections Committee approved, at its eleventh meeting held in Abu Dhabi on the fourth of June, the details of the timetable for the 2015 Federal National Council elections.

The timetable highlights the chronological sequence of the activities of the electoral process, in terms of announcing the opening of nominations, which begins on August 13, 2015, followed by the registration of candidates on August 16, which lasts for 5 days, after which the preliminary lists of candidates are announced on August 23, and in the period from the 24th to the On August 26, applications for objections to the candidates will be submitted. On August 27, the committee will respond to the objections to the candidates. On August 31, the final list of candidates will be announced. As for the campaign period, it will last for 25 days, from September 6 to September 30, 2015.

September 14th will be the last date for the withdrawal of the candidates, as well as the last date for submitting the names of their representatives. The timetable also specifies the date for announcing the results of the preliminary sorting, on October 3, the same day on which the 2015 elections will take place. In the absence of supplementary elections, the final list of winners will be approved.

The schedule included the date of by-elections, if any, and the announcement of their results. The current election schedule also provides members of electoral bodies who are outside the country with the opportunity to vote in embassies abroad, which extends over 20 and 21 September 2015. His Excellency indicated that setting a timetable for the electoral process enables the committee to manage the electoral process with high efficiency, and it also constitutes a clear vision for the committee to move forward in the electoral process according to a specific time frame for each of its stages, and at the same time ensures that the highest standards of accuracy and transparency are achieved in the course of the process. His Excellency stressed the great efforts made to raise awareness of the electoral process, noting that the early announcement of the timetable aims to enhance awareness and educate all members of society about the electoral process and its stages, which in turn leads to effective participation in the electoral process and the success of the third experience of the Federal National Council elections to be added to The successes achieved in the two previous experiments, 2006 and 2011.
